The Charles School serves students who have a strong desire to attend college and pursue higher education. Students who might not have considered college, who might have faced obstacles in the past, or who might be the first in their families to attend college will have teachers and advisors who smooth the transition to college-level coursework. When they begin to take college courses, students have access to the resources at Ohio Dominican University, including: labs and classrooms, libraries, art and music studios, playing fields and gyms, speakers, lectures, and concerts. Students will take their places in higher education and their communities as self-directed learners and compassionate citizens.
TCS@ODU students are introduced early to the college campus, immediately adjacent to the high school - conveniently located on Brentnell Avenue. Throughout their years at TCS@ODU, students will take advantage of lectures, concerts, nationally recognized speakers, labs, libraries, classrooms, lecture halls, playing fields and gyms on campus. By their fifth year, most TCS@ODU students will be studying full time on the college campus.
